Hello Dear Friends and Vinyl Junkies…
Sometime back in a season just passed, a ragtag cohort of admitted vinyl-addicted outcasts plotted an evening of merry pranks. Saddled with little more than a stack of records held tightly under skinny arms, eccentric personalities, and an insatiable appetite for sound, as well as mind-expanding substances, these individuals came together to form a most pure collective. The implied statement was simple: bring with you your most prized records and play a side for an unassuming audience of thirsty ears. I can’t help but be reminded of the ole’ plague cry, “Bring out your dead, bring out your dead…”, though I digress. I suppose in more ways then we can explain, for many of us, music perhaps holds the closest connection to Nirvana that we can feel while still aware; blinking eyes, expanding lungs and hearts that go: “Thud/Thud/thud”, like pummeling fist punching out of a wet box; birth hatches from it’s egg. No matter the action, sound or silence, there is ALWAYS a soundtrack in our minds…
